For anyone who would like to meet and carpool, meet at Food Lion, 1350 Charlotte Highway, Gerton NC at 9:00 and we can carpool from there. We will plan to leave by 9:10 am for the trailhead up the road. 9:00 sharp! Meet at the end of the lot closest to the road
Hey y’all! Let’s go hike the Strawberry Gap trail in Gerton NC! This is a 5.2 mile out and back with elevation gain of 1158’. All of the elevation gain is leaving from the parking lot. The top of the mountain is an open field with views for miles, including Bearwallow Mountain. There is a beautiful overlook on the way as well
Make sure to sign up only if you can handle the elevation gain starting out from the parking lot
The trail will have some rocks and roots, so wear sturdy footwear. Bring plenty of water
Dogs are not allowed on this trail
Everyone pack a picnic lunch and we’ll hang out before heading back down
