
What we’re about
AEMC - We're here to form a social community of respectful adults who enjoy Asian entertainment, media, food, and culture in all its formats.
The events that we plan on hosting will be Asian-centric and may include (but are not limited to) monthly movie nights and weekly show viewings (online and/or in person), concerts & festivals, board games, online gaming, book clubs, athletic events, dining out, cooking classes, potlucks, language exchanges, etc.
We also run a public discord community (18+ only).
RULES:
We operate on a few fundamental rules, which operate under the prime principle of being respectful and mindful.
- No Fan Wars of Any Kind - Anyone who incites, participates in, or encourages fan wars will be considered in violation of this rule. You're free to discuss your likes or dislikes but do not create a hostile environment based on your dislikes.
- No Toxic Behavior or Harassment - Please behave respectfully and be mindful of your actions. We do not endorse harassment in any form. If you feel that a member's (including members on the admin team) action towards you is unwarranted or unwelcomed, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I will handle it accordingly. ANY BEHAVIOR THAT IS DEEMED PREDATORY WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE BAN, AT ADMIN'S DISCRETION.
- Must commit to RSVPs - If you RSVP to an event (both in person and online), please make sure you attend. If your plans change, please update your RSVP accordingly.
- Must RSVP to attend events - Please do not just show up without any notice. It interferes with my planning and organizing of events, and expectations of how many I'm hosting, as well as being uncomfortable for those present to have unexpected people attend. If you show up without RSVPing first, I will decline your participation and ask that you leave.
- Adults Only - Unless an event description states that it is family-friendly, the majority of our events will be centered on an adult environment.
- Profile Must Have Real Photo - Please make sure your face is visible and identifiable in your profile photo for the transparency of membership. Members must be able to look at your profile photo and tell that it's you.
We operate primarily at Admin's discretion but will base our policy on a 3-strike system for the violation of any rules.
The first offense will be an informal warning.
The second offense will be a formal warning.
The third offense will be a ban from the group.
