Thanks for checking out our group! We’re a Meetup.com group dedicated to Asians in the ATX and surrounding areas! This groups’ goal is to create an open and friendly community environment that enables Asians to connect with one another, through participation of fun social events and activities together, hosted by our volunteer organizers!

Who should join:
Asians living in Austin and the surrounding area who would like to connect with other Asians living in the area. This group is not exclusively for Asians (all are welcome to join!) but its events and activities will be Asian-themed.

Why you should join:
-> To participate in fun social outings like dining out, picnics, BBQs, board games, sport activities, hiking, and other fun social activities!
-> To network with like-minded people by sharing your experiences and providing advice
-> To meet other fun Asians in the area

Safety and Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy

Acts of harassment, racism, intimidation, or similar acts, in person or online, are strictly prohibited

We strive on maintaining a friendly, safe, and positive social environment for all our members to enjoy social events together.
Sending unsolicited messages to other members of the group is strictly prohibited. If you feel you are being spammed or harassed through these type of messages, please reach out to the team. Violators will be banned from the group permanently.

RSVP & Attendance Policy:
We put a lot of effort in planning and organizing events to provide a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. Therefore, when you RSVP “YES” to an event, you are expected to commit to your RSVP to the event and observe the RSVP policies.

Asians in ATX is dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment that aligns with our mission and values. If event organizers believe an attendee's intentions do not align with these principles, we reserve the right to remove the individual from the event or the group. If you have any objections to such decisions, please email AsiansInAtxMeetup@gmail.com. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

RSVP Cancellation Deadline: Each event will have a RSVP cancellation deadline. This deadline can be found on the event description page. This is essentially the last day you can cancel your RSVP. After this deadline, you are considered to your RSVP to the event. If you need to cancel, please cancel before the deadline.

-> Late Bail Out: If you cancel your RSVP after the RSVP cancellation deadline (see #1 above), you are now considered to have Late Bailed Out for the event. You will receive a strike on your record

-> No Show: If you've confirmed your attendance (RSVP'd "YES") for an event but fail to attend, you will be marked as a "No-Show." Accumulating one "No-Show" puts you at risk of being bumped for future events, giving priority to those on the waitlist. Three "No-Show" incidents will result in immediate removal from the group.

-> Event Crashing: Participation of Asians in ATX events requires RSVP sign-up. Our team need to know exactly how many people will show up at an event so they can plan accordingly. If you show up at an event without prior RSVPing or have not obtained permission from the organizer of the event without RSVP’ing, you will cause issues for the organizer. This behavior will receive a strike on your record.

-> Three (3) strike policy: Asians in ATX is currently operating on a three strike policy. If you have accumulated 3 strikes/warnings on your record of any kind, you are removed from the group. Strikes may be removed given the attendee has had 5 consecutive events with no issues. Please contact the team to request removal of the strike.

-> Inviting guests to events: Some events may allow members to invite guest(s) to attend the event. If you would like to bring a friend to an event, please note all rules & policies will also apply to your guest on your behalf. All policy violations associated with your guest will be reflected on your record. Therefore, please invite guests wisely in order to ensure that the guest invitations will not result in a negative impact on your membership.

While these rules may seem harsh to some, it is to ensure all attendees have a fun and enjoyable experience. Our team are volunteers are not paid and it would be disrespectful and inconsiderate to the hard work our team puts into organizing and hosting events.

Advertising/Promotional Policy
All non-group related advertisement/promotional postings and/or actions within the group first must be pre-approved by the organizers. Violators may be risk being banned from the group.

Membership to Asians in ATX
Membership to Asians in ATX is a privilege. Asians in ATX reserves the right to reject membership application without given reasons, or to terminate membership at any time.
