What we’re about

Death is an equal opportunity event that will directly or indirectly affect every individual, community, or organization at some point. The more we know about grief, what it is, and why we grieve, the better we are able to deal with the inevitable occasion of loss. The challenge is that grief is the subject that no one wants to talk about, but everyone needs to hear. It's the elephant in the room.

Dora Carpenter, Founder of the Institute of Professional Grief Coaching (IOPGC), says that grief is not a disease to be fixed or cured. One of her books, Grief Talk Revolution: It's Time to Talk About the Elephant in the Room, is endorsed by Jack Canfield, Co-author of the best selling Chicken Soup for the Soul Series, who says, “This is really an important topic that most people never receive any education about, yet every one of us is going to have to deal with it probably at multiple times in our life. You are doing important work and you have such an interesting story.”

During our Ask a Grief Coach quarterly chats, Coach Dora, or a member of her team, will share, inform, educate, and answer your grief-related questions.
