There are a million factors to consider for every business, but photography…always feels like a million and one.

And there’s always the questions and nagging self-doubt: Do I need new gear? Should I be shooting something different? Do I REALLY have to learn Tiktok? Where IS everyone??
To make the understatement of the year, becoming a photographer is A LOT. It doesn’t have to be all chaos, though. I’m here to help you build a business that works for you. I’ve done the work to help you get to where you need to be. As I tell my students in class, you’re currently enrolled in “Sara’s Mistakes 101, 102 or 103”. I’ve done all the hard work, so I want you to learn from it.

About Sara:
Professionally, I’ve been a working photographer since 2008. I’ve been teaching photography since 2012 and I purchased the Atlanta School of Photography in 2017 and founded Illuminate Atlanta in 2018. Some of my clients include the St Regis, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Fernbank Museum, numerous fur babies of Atlanta, but I am most proud of my 10 year relationship with the Woodruff Arts Center, including the High Museum and Alliance Theatre.
Personally, I’m a proud weirdo. I’m a huge nerd and love shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who, and books like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. You could find me watching a local drag show or the bar watching a Green Bay Packers game. Despite running a business where I feed off of the interaction of others, every once in a while I like to escape to the mountains for a few days without cell phone reception.
