Re: [aspergers-81] Connecticut Shooting

From: January

When I was at work today, my coworkers started talking about the shooter having Asperger's. No one I work with knows I have AS. One of them said that he was Autistic, so he obviously had problems. Another person spoke up and said that the spectrum includes a lot of different kinds of people and he doubts it had anything to do with what happened. I kept my mouth shut because I don't really want them to know my private business, but it made me happy to see that some people understand. The other people at my job ignored the guy who stood up for all us weirdos. But it doesn't matter. They will always be stuck in their negative thoughts about all people who are different than themselves. But it's the few people that do understand, and will stand up, that make the difference. And we know the truth. Asperger's did not cause that young man to kill little children.

There are different kinds of video games. Some involve racing a car, some
involve digging tunnels, some involve jumping, and some involve fighting. And
the ones that involve fighting or shooting may not turn violent someone who can
tell fantasy from reality.

They're changing the story again. An earlier story said that Nancy, his
mother, worked at the school and the guard buzzed him in (I had to figure out
what that phrase meant) because he had previously come with her. Now they say
she did not work at the school and he broke in.
