**LOSE YOUR FEAR! AND SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY!**

Do you have trouble speaking your mind to co-workers, family members or other people in your life? Are you often afraid of others’ potential reactions to what you need to say? Saying “no”, receiving or offering criticism and navigating disagreements are all examples of common situations which many of us feel unprepared to handle.

SpeakUp! is a structured bi-weekly meetup for people who want to practice assertive communication. Using challenging interpersonal situations from our own experiences, we pair up to practice new behaviours and social skills in a risk-free setting.

**Meeting Format:**
\* Brief group discussion
\* Role-play is modelled for participants
\* Self-help principles for effective role-play are offered to the group
\* Participants are paired with each other or a facilitator for role-play
\* Each participant has the opportunity to practice desired behaviours within their specific interpersonal interaction (“scene”) and receive feedback before roles are switched
\* Brief Q&A/discussion
