ABH Study Group - [pre-read] Existentialism is a Humanism by Jean-Paul Sartre
Details
ABH book club reading of Existentialism is a Humanism by Jean-Paul Sartre. We will come together to discuss Sartre's insights into the Humanist tradition, how this can support us today to practice Humanism in everyday life and how one gauges coming to terms with existence.
A copy of this book is available here in the PDF, or the full audiobook lecture is available here on YouTube.
The Association of Black Humanists (ABH) presents a new series of workshops aimed at helping us embrace all aspects of practising Humanism. To support our work, you can donate to our ongoing efforts to expand Humanism for all here.
The ABH Study Group offers us a collective space to read, study and discuss the form Humanism takes in our everyday lives, with our focus on how Humamism affects us as members of the diaspora.
Led by Ewere Owaka (current ABH Philosopher in residence), we will cover a range of topics from Philosophical enquiry to Political agency in the modern landscape.
NOTE: This will be a safe space to learn and make mistakes with those who can better understand your situation. Acts of aggression, discrimination or bullying will not be tolerated, and those who disturb our discussion will be removed.
