About our presenter
Our presenter this month is Tina Heinich. She is a software engineer at NASA Langley Research Center. She has worked on (and still work on) various IT odd jobs since joining, but currently she focuses on building and maintaining web applications (sometimes with a “data science/data visualization twist”). She also serves as a point of contact for data visualization and lead an agency community that aims to let NASA employees feel comfortable learning about data visualization and best practices, no matter their domain or tool know-how.
About her presentation
The title of the presentation is “Lessons Learned from Developing Web-based Data Visualization in NASA”.
The translated version of that is: “I’ve been trying to implement interactive data vis at NASA for several years now, so I’d love to share some tips, the things that have been successful and might be interesting to your group…and the things I have done that you should never ever do, no matter how much your boss asks you to.” Tina Heininch
