It used to be that we didn’t meet on Mother’s Day because of the holiday. To keep it short; both the first and third Sunday’s at the UnUrban are fully booked so this year, we will. We will also be trying to start on time; that is by 12:30 or earlier if possible.

This is a basic chart showing the houses on the inner wheel, the signs and house cusps (lines) on the outer wheel and the 10 basic “planets” in between. The chart also shows the two main other points, the Ascendant or Rising Sign (also 1st house cusp) which is the Eastern horizon and the M/C or Midheaven (also 10th house cusp) or top of the chart.

Because both Dominique and Michelle who were on the schedule to present are both mother’s with young children their presentation; Nurturing Astrology, Part 2,” has been switched to June 9.

I plan on being there early, say 11:30’ish for anyone who wants to join me and talk charts and whatever.
What are we going to do? This will be an interactive presentation and Q & A. We’ll talk about what a chart shows, some suggested books, websites and how-to’s. I’ll be providing copies of some guides to help with learning the various symbols, definitions and keywords for basic interpretations. In looking at charts we’ll talk about what you are seeing; the parts of the chart that move and how they move as we help you to visualize a 3D image of your chart. We’ll touch on rulerships, elements, modes and the quadrant and hemisphere divisions of a chart and the basic aspects. Not as daunting as it might sound. By the end, you should have a better feel for your chart and yourself.

This is ideal for those who are curious about what astrology has to offer, for beginners, those “self-teaching” or anyone who has questions or who might like a little “push” to help get them over a learning hump or on to the next level. Those who attend may volunteer their chart for “show and tell” as well. Each chart, even those of twins is unique.

By the time of this Meetup, Mars will be the only planet in an air sign and Neptune will be the only planet in a water sign. Three planets, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will be retrograde representing the beginning of a long period with one or more planets retrograde so be prepared for delays and constrictions in your life in the weeks ahead. Mars will also be out-of-bounds North. The chart pattern will be a Bucket with a Moon handle.
