Let's Look at how Mars Activates our Charts in August.

August is all about Mars. On the Full Moon of August 8/9 Mars has moved into Libra and is forming a Grand Air Trine with Pluto and Uranus. This significant placement will set the scene and be played out over the next month.
Mars shows the drive we use to direct our energy towards the fulfillment of our desires and our will. This works well when both are aligned. But have you ever tried working towards something that you think you should want, do or be, but in your heart, you don’t really believe in it? Trying to direct your energy into such an endeavour is like sludging through mud. The results too can be muddy. Observing what truly engages your energy is the path to greater self-awareness. What you really want is who you really are or where you really are at. In this sense, Mars is your truth teller as it really only engages in its pure form for things that are authentic for you.
Mars is your driver for worldly achievements and for getting your own emotional needs met. But it is more than what you desire on the physical plain. It may also impel you on your spiritual quest. It is also the driver for your inner quest, battling your inner demons, facing your own nature with faith and courage and forging a path towards the light in service of a greater good for others.
I confess I have never really felt I can get a good grip on Mars. Yet I want to. Perhaps because I am conflicted by an Aries Ascendant that wants to go go go, and a Mars in Pisces that wants to dream, dream, dream. Sometimes I am all Aries, leaping before looking. And sometimes I think I am getting somewhere only to realise I have just been on my couch dreaming about it. I work at managing these two disparate energies thoughtfully: respecting my need for time to dream things into existence and remaining vigilant when action is required.
Libra is another conflictual placement for Mars. Libra is a Venusian sign, opposite to Martian ruled Aries. Where Aries wants decisive action, Libra wants peace and to balance out the needs of all. Aries is the sword of clarity and Libra is the scales of justice. In Libra, the Martian impulse to cut through will be tempered by the need to talk it through and come to a reasonable position that suits most if not all of the people involved. That sounds great but it can be kind of frustrating if you are a Martian type who just wants to get things done and perhaps prefer to go it alone in order to do so. The trick is to not be afraid to make decisions over this time. It is ok to cut away from people who are not a positive force in your life, or situations. How to do this with a Libran Mars, is to employ its super power (every placement has on) which is the ability to negotiate with a very clear goal in mind.
But anyway, that is where we will all be. We are being asked to temper and balance our Mars nature. Mars is sextile Mercury retrograde in Leo, so expect a lot of people and situations coming in the first 3rd of August and then, once Mercury grinds to a halt and goes direct around the 11th. Here is where you will really get your opportunity to cut through and change some old dynamics.
Our August Mars is doing so much more this month though as it is activating All the outer planets. The Grand trine with Uranus and Pluto will give intensity, depth and the ability to see old situations or problems in a new light (Mercury is sextile Uranus and opposite Pluto) and via Mars to find new and more clear solutions with the new information you have gained.
Most importantly, Mars is opposite Saturn and Neptune in Aries, ruled by Mars. There is something here about surrendering, approaching your endeavors with faith and finding a way to express them with a higher vibration into the world.
