Chart Reading Group 2: Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio

Mercury might be the single most important planet in the horoscope since it is through Mercury that we not only absorb but also disseminate all of our perceptions. - Sullivan, Erin. Retrograde Planets: Traversing the Inner Landscape . Red Wheel Weiser. Kindle Edition.
What information are we absorbing and in what manner do we disseminate it? We view the outside world, and the things that are said, through the lens of our own place in space and time, our family, culture, past experiences, view of the world and our particular ideologies, known or unknown to ourselves.
Mercury retrograde is that time when we are offered the opportunity to look again and see the information differently, from a different perspective. This particular retrograde, this tendency is on steroids. Think back to the Lunar Eclipse at the end of August. Uranus was square the eclipse and Mercury was conjunct the Sun. Shifts in perception were set in motion then and this retrograde is giving us the opportunity to revisit and revise what those were. At the end of this retrograde period, we will be more aligned with the new perspectives we have gained and the manner in which we should move forward because of them.
