The sign Virgo is one of the most significant in the zodiac for its symbology concerns the whole goal of the evolutionary process which is to shield, nurture and finally reveal the hidden spiritual reality.
Bailey, Alice A.. Esoteric Astrology: Vol 3. A Treatise on the Seven Rays (p. 245). Lucis Publishing Companies. Kindle Edition.
In Leo, we face the task of learning to be an empowered and integrated personality. In Hercules Tales for Leo, Hercules conquers the lion and is depicted after this as wearing the skin of the lion as a mantle. The lion is the personality self, and Hercules is the soul self.
Virgo is a natural progression from Leo and takes this theme further, or deeper. In Virgo, the great spiritual task is to deepen and grow the integration of personality and soul. The revelation that all is divine: that all of matter is essentially energy and it is the energy of love that creates all matter. This is the revelation of Virgo.
The work of nurturing and growing is a mother’s work and Virgo is inextricably linked to her. Just as Cancer symbolises the birth of the soul into incarnation, Virgo symbolises the birth of the personality into the life of the soul.
This quality may not be entirely obvious when you meet your Virgo friends. Virgo can present itself as quiet and unassuming. But behind the meek exterior is often a razor- sharp mind that is picking over every detail that it considers important. Learning to discern what really matters is a Virgo issue. Next time you consider your Virgo friend too picky, remember that this inclination makes perfect sense when you think of what it means to have the responsibility of nurturing and growing something precious.
Join me in a discussion of Virgo from the perspective of both personality and Soul growth. We will also look at Virgo factors in your chart.
See you there, Lynette

About Me: Lynette Malone
Founder of the Astrology Collective. I believe in community.
BA. Dip.Ed. High School English Teacher. FAA certified. (Doris Greaves Silver Medal award).
I discovered astrology at 12 and knew it was my future thing upon finding Stephen Arroyos book: Astrology, Karma and Transformation – I knew it was an important part of my own spiritual path.
My major influences astrologically are the Jungians, Liz Greene et al and the spiritually focused astrologers, Stephen Arroyo in particular. Having grown up with astrology I am well aware of how perspectives can change as one grows., Including our perspective on what a chart is telling us. I have learned so much about myself and the world around me through tracking the growth of both individuals, families, collectives, and the growth of consciousness in the world at large. Yes, I love Richard Tarnas book: Cosmos and Psyche also. But I am also esoterically inclined, reading Alice Bailey books since I was 15yrs old. I do my best to be in service to the Good.
Other major influences in my life have been Jungian thinkers. Especially, James Hillman and his book: Revisioning Psychology. I love myth, fairy tales, and book- clubs where we get to read them together, sharing our revelations along the way.
I believe that to heal the world we must also heal ourselves. Clarity, Discernment and practicing goodwill to all other beings. And so, my main influence has been the very ordinary, difficult yet ultimately joyous business of being a human and living life.
My personal bio: I have lived loved laughed lost languished lamented fallen down, gotten up. Pulled starlight out of my wounds to light our way. In short, I am a person.
I love teaching, learning, and connecting with you. I look forward to meeting you, Lynette
