Let’s get together and discuss “Persian Nativities IV: On the Revolutions of the Years of the Nativities,” a book about natal predictive techniques (see below) written in the middle ages by Abu Ma’shar, and translated from Arabic by Ben Dykes.
For this meeting (#11), prepare by reading the book through page 363. We will be discussing Book III: On Directions, Chapters III.6-III.10, (Distributors and their partners, specifically Venus and Mercury distributions. Also two chapters on Ninth-Parts). We should discuss some personal examples as well, related to time periods with Venus or Mercury as the distributor.
If you want to join the discussion, come to the zoom meeting on July 12th! The topics for this reading are: Venus and Mercury distributions and some more interpretation principles, Ninth-Parts from Abu-Mashar's perspective.
Look for the link for the zoom meeting below on the meetup page!

Let’s get together for our final discussion in our series on the Nakshatras, or Lunar Mansions of Vedic Astrology. This is a continuing series of meetings covering all of the Nakshatras so we can become familiar with each one in detail.
Nakshatras are used for both natal analysis and also for electional planning and we should cover both for each Nakshatra! Our main study questions: What are the characteristics of natives of each Nakshatra? What types of activities are fortuitous to begin when the moon is in these Nakshatras? (What other study questions do YOU have?) Bring your own chart (or natal moon position) and any anecdotes of someone you know with these nakshatras:
This meeting let’s cover:
Purva Bhadrapada
Sidereal: 20 Aquarius 00 - 3 Pisces 20
(Tropical, approx 13/14 Pisces - 26/27 Pisces )
Uttara Bhadrapada
Sidereal: 3 Pisces 20 - 16 Pisces 40
(Tropical, approx 26/27 Pisces - 9/10 Aries)
Revati
Sidereal: 16 Pisces 40 - 30 Pisces 00
(Tropical, approx 9/10 Aries - 23/24 Aries )Vedic Astrology Background: Nakshatras are divisions of the sky into 27 regions, each 13 degrees 20 minutes in size. The moon takes approximately 27 days to move through the zodiac and the number of Nakshatras reflects this. Your natal Nakshatra is based on your moon degree position in the sidereal zodiac (See the list above with both sidereal and tropical degrees (in case you don't know your Sidereal chart but if you're close to the nakshatra cusp you've got to make the sidereal chart; tropical cusp changes over time!).
We are all going to use our own sources to prepare for the meeting & feel free to share ones you like in the comments (please do!) and in the meeting chat, but here are a few to get you started:
