Come and join Rick Bria, ASG astronomer, on the first and third Wednesday of every month (when skies are clear!) for our free public nights. Rick will talk about the views of planets, nebulae, and other deep sky objects you will see in the telescope.

Note that we do not issue cancellations due to weather. You may call 203-987-1364 for a recording letting you know if weather will prevent viewing, in which case the observatory will be closed. Also, you may click here for an updated 48-hour forecast of skies at The Bowman***.***

The Observatory is operated by members of the Astronomical Society of Greenwich on behalf of the Greenwich Board of Education. The Observatory is on the grounds of the Julian Curtiss School, East Elm Street, Greenwich

Thanks to the generosity of several donors, in 2014 The Astronomical Society of Greenwich installed a state-of-the-art RCOS Carbon Truss 16″ Ritchey-Chretien F/8.4 telescope in the Observatory.

DIRECTIONS

The Observatory is on the Julian Curtiss school grounds on a small hill to the west of the school playing fields and to the northeast of the parking lot.
