Science World has extended an invitation to RASC Vancouver to join them in viewing the Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21.

The Eclipse will start at 9:10 am. Maximum partial totality will be at 10:21 am and the Eclipse will end at 11:37 am.

Science World will be setting up outside on the grass and will have monitors showing the Eclipse in real time from the U.S.A.

RASC Vancouver will have solar telescopes, solar displays, and eclipse shades for everyone's enjoyment and safe viewing.

Please join us at Science World.

Never use photographic filters, sunglasses, x-ray film, CD’s, etc to view a solar eclipse. Even smoked glass is harmful as although it will dim the Sun, ultraviolet and infrared light will still pass through. NEVER look directly at the sun with binoculars or a telescope. Also, NEVER use eclipse glasses with a regular telescope as the magnification will render the eclipse glasses harmful.

RASC National Office has distributed Solar Eclipse Shades to all Centres and your Vancouver Centre will have a supply available for free at the Eclipse event.
