The RASC Vancouver Centre is hosting its first ever large-scale, multi-day, dark sky star party. We must be clear in stating that this event is not for the public-at-large, but for enthusiastic amateur astronomers who own observing equipment and would like to spend a few days experiencing the wonder of a dark sky environment. If you do not own your own observing equipment, then this event is not for you (no spectators please).

A star party is an overnight excursion at a dark sky location. This is a chance for amateur astronomers to spend the night chasing targets they want to add to their observing list and/or astrophotography album. It is a chance for astronomers to hang out with other astronomers and share experiences and knowledge.

This star party is being held on a privately owned off-grid campground just outside of Boston Bar, BC, and nestled within the unspoiled beauty of the Nahatlatch Valley. The skies are dark (Bortle 3) and the location is secluded offering incredible views of the night sky with plenty of faint dark-sky objects visible.
