RASC Vancouver Monthly Meeting

Details
Join us for our monthly meeting. All of our monthly meetings are free and open to the public.
Location: Room SWH 10041
Topic: NOVA Jr., a Fun Way to Share Astronomy
Speaker: Colleen O'Hare
Bio: Colleen has always been interested in science and in 2004 she found time to join the RASC Okanagan Centre. She quickly gravitated towards Outreach and became Outreach Coordinator (Kelowna) in 2005. She enjoys sharing her passion by presenting slide shows to schools and clubs as well as participating in community events and Friday evenings at the Okanagan Observatory. She is thoroughly comfortable with the label of ‘astronomoholic’. Currently, she is the club's Librarian, Past President and continues as Outreach Coordinator.
Abstract: Colleen will be sharing some of the NOVA Jr modules that she has put together and uses as a fun way to teach astronomy to youth. She is hoping our members will also share some of the tips and tricks that they have found useful.
About our Events:
All RASC lectures and observing events are open to the public, family friendly, and there is no charge for admission. Our organization is run entirely by volunteers who love astronomy and astrophysics. Whether you're a complete beginner, a seasoned astronomer, or you hope to work for NASA some day, anyone fascinated by space exploration is welcome and will enjoy our events
