Hi Gophers,
Our 8th Athens Gophers meetup is coming on Thursday, January 30 at The Orbit, Kifissias 115, 11524 Athens.
The event will be sponsored by BEAT (https://thebeat.co).
In the first talk, "No country for old Mangos" Delio D'Anna will show is amazing tools for creating your own distributed topologies the hard way.
Delio is a senior backend engineer for Beat, he's got a background in Physics and AI but has been working with back-ends for web applications for the last 10 years, interested in distributed systems, asynchronous architectures and ACO(Ant colony optimisation) techniques.
In the second talk, "The Go way @ Beat" Sotirios Mantziaris will show us how Go helped Beat create amazing software and open-sourced some of those.
Sotiris is a Senior Engineering Manager for the Dispatch Domain at Beat and has a passion for building highly scalable, resilient and distributed systems.
After the talks networking will follow.
