Introduction

Journal keeping is a powerful practice which enables us to reflect about the past while setting intentions for the future creatively. In this course we apply mindfulness meditation practices to learn how to keep a journal with purpose. We will share tools and techniques to establish practices of long-term mindful intention setting and creating habits of mindful/reflective living. We set the foundations of living the life we want by being present in our lives.

You will learn:

  • How to establish a morning meditation practice
  • How to apply monthly inspirational ideas in to your everyday life
  • How to mindfully contemplate the past, present and future in our lives
  • Journaling tools for keeping track of experiences
  • Powerful reflective and intention setting techniques to support your growth and development

Journaling with purpose can be a good tool for keeping track of experiences as they happen. In this course we will use monthly inspirations based on concepts of mindful living such as being in the present, ride through difficult emotions, cultivate loving kindness for ourselves and others. With purposeful and mindful guidance we will combine meditation with open writing techniques to provoke creativity and fruitful reflection. The results will be journaling entries that we can use to observe patterns of behaviour arising and we can measure how far we have come and matured as individuals. The entries don’t have to be long and they can have the nature of:

  • past events of synchronicity-and-connections,
  • situations of being proud of ourselves
  • gratitude journal entries
  • disappointments and blockages
  • life milestones such as a weddings, the birth of a child, a graduation
  • and all the emotions surrounding such events.

Session format

  • The format of the monthly morning sessions will be:
  • Mindful checking in
  • Inspiration for the month
  • Journaling exercises
  • Reflection
  • Closing meditation practice
