What we’re about
This is a community for those who care about their code, who want to improve their craft and help others improve theirs.
It is for those who take pride in what they do and who, as Software Craftsmen and Craftswomen, want to raise the bar of software development. It is for those that think that being average is not good enough and are passionate about technical excellence.
Our events will include code retreats, dojos, talks, group discussions and social gatherings. Any programming language is welcome and all levels of experience are welcome too.
The Manifesto for Software Craftsmanship:
- Not only working software, but also well-crafted software.
- Not only responding to change, but also steadily adding value.
- Not only individuals and interactions, but also a community of professionals.
- Not only customer collaboration, but also productive partnerships.

Informal Meet & Greet and a Fresh Start
Barrett, Protogenous 11, Monastiraki, Athens, GRHello everyone and a Happy 2026 !! o/
I had stepped up to keep this group running a while back, as I recently moved to Athens. I never found the time to get more involved and get some meetups going again though... Till now!
After some discussions over on the Software Makers zulip chat, a few of us decided to have an informal get-together, on Wednesday 14 Jan @ 20:00 .
Please join us if you:
- would like to see more meetups around the Software Making Craft in Athens,
- would like to revive this community,
- are a meetup organiser of another relevant community,
- are curious about the SoCraTes Crete unconference,
- would like to learn more about the non-profit Software Makers Association and how it can help you,
- just want to share a $beverage with fellow Software Crafters.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Note: Please do RSVP in case you're planning to join, so we can adjust the venue accordingly.
Disclaimer: Even though this event is happening at the start of a New Year, there is no pitta cutting! :)4 attendees
