Astronomy club monthly meeting, May 17

At the the May meeting learn about the search for biosignatures of earth like exoplanets. Our guest speaker is Jiapeng Gao, a second year graduate student pursuing his Ph.D. in Physics at Georgia Tech.
In his talk he will review Carl Sagans pioneering analysis of earths atmospheric and surface fingerprints, then extend the discussion. He will explore both current & forthcoming instrumentation, mostly space based, that could detect these biosignatures.
