I've been tinkering with tech for over 30 years. Before I ever wrote a line of code, I was wiring up networks with LANtastic and building retail solutions for small businesses using Lotus Notes and point-of-sale systems.
Then summer of '96 happened — I picked up Progress 4GL, and by late '97 I'd stumbled into SQL Server 6.5 through an integration project. That was it. I was hooked. I rode the SQL Server wave from version 7 all the way through 2022.
These days at AWS, I help businesses — big and small, across every industry you can think of — figure out their next move. Cloud-native modernization, breaking apart monoliths, weaving Agentic AI into their workflows… whatever the challenge, I'm in their corner as a trusted advisor.
When I'm not nerding out on databases, you'll find me in my garage-turned-woodworking-shop in Atlanta, where my wife and I have lived since 2017. I'm also a proud dad of two — one son lives overseas, and the other is stationed in Florida with his wife and my grandson.
