Join Soul Cinema Sundays as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. King on MLK weekend in 2025! The featured premiere screening is the critically acclaimed independent film “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” starring Danny Glover, Mike Epps, Tichina Arnold, and Jimmie Fails in a story about gentrification and the importance of having a place to call home.
Plot of the film:
Jimmie and his best friend Mont try to reclaim the house built by Jimmie's grandfather, launching them on a poignant odyssey that connects them to their past, even as it tests their friendship and sense of belonging in the place they call home.
There will be a pre-film talk with host Kalonji Changa of Black Power Media in conversation with the Housing Justice League discussing their work on affordable housing in the metro Atlanta area.
