Ed Buckner, a lifetime member of AFS and frequent speaker, has served as President of American Atheists and Executive Director of the Council for Secular Humanism. He and his son Michael co-wrote a book, In Freedom We Trust: An Atheist Guide to Religious Liberty—published in 2012. Ed publishes a free blog, Letters to a Free Country (https://edbuckner.substack.com/). He earned degrees from Rice university and Georgia State University. The two things he’s proudest of are his marriage to Diane and being Michael’s father.

Ed’s talk, “Who to Vote For,” will be a look back at 19th century and early 20th century Republican leaders.

There will be time for questions.
