Abstract:
Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) started as a platform for gamers and visual editors but due to its "thousands of cores" architecture, it quickly gained traction in the financial trading industry, driverless cars, deep learning, geospatial, cybersecurity and IoT space.
In this presentation, you will learn about the architecture of GPU and what problem it solves in todays never ending need for "fast analytics". Use cases will also be mentioned that we know today have been enjoying the benefits of using GPU powered platforms.

Rommel Garcia was a senior solution engineer from Hortonworks and currently works at Kinetica, a company that built GPU powered database. He is the Director of Solution Engineering in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.
