Let's speak French in the city! We'll meet up for Friday Jazz at the High. Experience evening access to the Museum as the sounds of live jazz surround you. Enjoy a drink and head to the galleries as you explore the High’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. The event will feature two musical areas where musicians will play throughout the evening, layering notes and improvising melodies.
Musical Performances
Atrium:
6–7 p.m., 7:30–8:30 p.m., and 9–9:50 p.m.
Orkin Terrace:
6:30–7:30 p.m. and 8–9 p.m.
Signature Cocktail
Sample this month’s signature cocktail, the White Juniper Mule. This cocktail features chardonnay, gin, peach schnapps, and ginger beer.
General Information:
- Due to the popularity of this event, we ask that you reserve tickets online in advance of your visit.
- Members enjoy free tickets to Friday Jazz; however, we strongly encourage that tickets be reserved online in advance to reduce wait times.
- Guest passes are valid for general admission only and cannot be redeemed during this event.
- Seating is extremely limited, and priority is given to guests who have accessibility challenges.
- No outside food or beverage is permitted.
- Parking in the Woodruff Arts Center garage is limited and may reach capacity before you arrive. We recommend the Promenade Parking Garage (32 14th Street NE) for alternate parking.
About this month's artist,
Emrah Kotan is a classically trained percussionist who came to the United States from his native Turkey and received a Master's degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. His debut album, The New Anatolian Experience, is a collection of original compositions and arrangements that fuse world music and jazz, creating stylistically sophisticated vibes and a genuine model of personal artistic expression.
After playing some of the most renowned venues in the world such as the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival and The Blue Note in New York, Emrah is one of the most sought after musicians in the Atlanta music scene. His unique musical ability transcends many genres and cultures. He is involved in various musical projects, including his own, and is the drummer/percussionist for Grammy award winning artist, India.Arie.
Aside from performing, Emrah is an enthusiastic music educator who has conducted master classes and has taught many students over the years, some of which who have been awarded music scholarships by the colleges of their choice. Emrah teaches students of all ages privately and is the Director of the Jazz and World Percussion Ensembles at Agnes Scott College. He lives in Atlanta, GA.

MARTA
For MARTA access, take the train to Arts Center Station (N5), and then follow the signs up to the campus level. For access through Lyft, Uber, or other ride sharing services, follow in-app navigation to the drop-off areas on Callaway Plaza at the corner of Peachtree Street and 15th or on Arts Center Way.
