Event Description:

“Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy” is a colorful art carnival born from the wild imagination of Austrian artist and impresario André Heller.

In 1987, ‘Luna Luna’ landed in Hamburg, Germany (before the Berlin Wall fell): the world’s first art amusement park with rides, games, and attractions by visionaries like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Salvador Dalí. By a twist of fate, the park’s treasures were soon sealed in 44 shipping containers and forgotten in Texas—until Drake financed their restoration.

Opening September 24, Atlanta will be only the third city to host “Luna Luna,” after exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York.

Marvel at Basquiat’s towering Ferris wheel, be swept away by Kenny Scharf’s technicolor swing ride, delight in Keith Haring’s carousel, and explore the playful wonders of Poncilí Creación’s PoncilíLand.

Set to a soundtrack featuring André 3000, David Byrne and more, Luna Penicillin: Forgotten Fantasy is a multi-sensory experience for every generation.

A six-part podcast that premiered in March tells the story of “Luna Luna’s” disappearance and revival. Hosted by art historian Helen Molesworth, the podcast is available on most major streaming platforms.

• You can tour the entire exhibit in 60-75 minutes, though visitors can stay longer.
• Purchase your own ticket on the Luna Luna website - before sure to choose the time entry for Sat, Oct 18, 7:00pm.
• Purchase the standard Luna Ticket @$38. (They also offer a Moon Pass for $64, but the extras may not be worth the jump in price.)
