Gwinnett county come join us on the Chattahoochee river in Duluth. This will be an easy going stroll through the park and along the river. The path is very flat and padded for most of the walk.
We will meet at the bridge near the tubing launch area. For reference, the bridge is off the parking lot, just down from the Cattapoochee dog park area at the Peachtree Ind Blvd entrance. This is a short journey for any of us OTP hikers in the Duluth, Suwanee, Norcross, John's Creek, Roswell/Alpharetta areas.
We will play it by ear for distance. There will be at least 3 miles of hiking over the bridge through the park and along the river. There are a couple of sun exposed stretches so bring some sun screen. As with all hikes use you best judgement on your own exhertion. The hike is s big loop in the park so easy to take breaks along the way.
For culture lovers they have done a good job with the repurposed steel and brick sculpures on the trail and that whole section of the river makes for a nice scenic walk. Also, after I will likely stop for lunch in one of the local old town squares for anyone who would like to get some historic charm in thier weekend.
Currently planning for lunch at Duluth town Square at LR Burgers which also has a good vegan selection of options. Here is the address/website: 3151 Main St. Duluth GA. https://lrburger.com
Looking forward to seeing folks for the hike at the river :)
