Jones Bridge on the Chattahoochee in John's Creek

Details
North Fulton and Gwinnett county come join us on the Chattahoochee river in Johns Creek. This will be an easy going stroll through the park and along the river. The path is mostly flat with one hilly bit for about a quarter of a mile.
We will meet at the big paved parking lot at the north trail head entrance near the restrooms. For reference the parking lot is just under a mile drive down from the park entrance on Barnwell Rd, which is on the west side of the Chattahoochee. The paved parking lot is past the boat launch area where the drive ends. National Park passes are accepted and day passes are available at the park for five dollars. This is a short journey for any of us OTP hikers in the Duluth, Suwanee, Norcross, John's Creek, Roswell/Alpharetta areas.
We will play it by ear for distance. There will be at least 3 miles of hiking through the park and along the river. It is a shaded trail but as always bring some sun screen. It is still Georgia in June :) The park is dog friendly with a leash. Also, as with all hikes bring water and use you best judgement on your own exhertion. The hike is a stroll on the river so easy to take breaks along the way.
For nature lovers they have done a good job with the trail and that whole section of the river makes for a nice scenic walk. Also, after I will likely stop for lunch at the Ground Pound cafe on Holcomb bridge for anyone who would like to join.
Looking forward to seeing folks for the hike at the river :)
