Join us for a Northsiders Halloween Hike.
To get into the fun of the holiday spirit we will do a cemetery to cemetery hike :) It will be an urban hike from the National Cemetary on the East side to the Marietta cemetery on the South side. This crosses the square and along the Mountain to River rail trail as it passes trough historic Marietta.
This is about a 4 mile hike on a low difficulty urban trail. We will keep to the paved trail and side walks. About half the trail runs along Marietta streets the other half along the rail line and thruogh the cemetery paths. The hike is as you will, at your own pace. As always, sunscreen and a bottle of water are always good idea.
The meet up will begin in the courtyard behind the Cool Bean Coffee Roasters on Mill St. The hike will start with a stroll past the square, then head east to the National Cemetery. Then backtrack through the square, visiting some of the murals and public art along the way.
We will wrap up at the Marietta Square Market, which has a food hall for anyone interested in getting lunch. (Yes, it has a Vegan eatery :) )
There is quite a bit of parking in the neighborhood, including some free 2 hr street parking, and across the tracks is a large pay parking area at the Market off of Polk st.
Note: Since it is a town center it is best to allow time for parking.
We will meet at the back patio of Cool Bean Coffee at 10:00 AM.
I will be there wearing my red shirt to help you find the meet up.
