BOTANICAL GARDEN LIGHTS!

Welcome! Let's meet at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and walk around IN the garden, to see the winter lightshow with synchronized music!
“One of the most loved exhibits is the Orchestral Orbs that change to 14 million different colors that dance to holiday music on the Great Lawn.”

ATLANTA BOTANICAL GARDEN LIGHTS, HOLIDAY NIGHTS: BRILLIANT HOLIDAY FUN IN 2022 (msn.com)
https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/atlanta-botanical-garden-lights-holiday-nights-brilliant-holiday-fun-in-2022/ar-AA13Qfh3

The question asked is,
"Do you agree to be a part of the group decision at Sun Dec 29 8:00-8:20 pm (either by chat or maybe a call)
(OR, you can just buy your ticket between the signup deadline on Dec 26 and that time)"

You need to sign up on Meetup by Thu Dec 26 8pm.

If buying early, please wait until Thu Dec 26 8pm at least, to see how many people sign up.
There is a risk of a sellout.

Then I plan to have the group decision at Sun Dec 29 8:00-8:20 pm . Basically during the time we can make introductions and ask questions.

GROUP DECISION event:
https://www.meetup.com/atlanta-midtown-walking-group/events/304992694/

If attending the group decision, please sign up on that event.

Then, I would ask if you confirm that will buy the ticket.
(Assurance - we need 6 people to confirm; otherwise no need to buy a ticket.)
If you are unable to make it at that time, that’s fine; you can buy your ticket before time and confirm you bought it by the time. The event might get cancelled just after the group meeting; however, I would be going anyway.

TO BUY A TICKET:
"Garden Lights, Holiday Nights"
https://atlantabg.org/plan-your-visit/atlanta-garden-calendar/garden-lights-holiday-nights/

ONE way to buy is:
[1] Click Non-Member Tickets (or Member, as appropriate)
[2] Click Sat Jan 4
[3] Go to the Adult line (about 2nd from bottom) for General Admission.
[4] Click the '+'
[5] Above, select the time:
Please buy the 7:30 tickets. This in 2024 results in webpage saying "ATL - Garden Lights, Holiday Nights - Saturday, Jan 4, 2025 from 7:30 PM - 8:00 PM", which is presumably the time slot.
Then it says the vague, "Please make sure to arrive to the Garden within 15 minutes of your selected time slot.", which is not clear about before vs after.
(If not available, please get a ticket time of 8:00) (or 8:30).
• If you are unable to get the exact ticket start time, you can message me and you can join the group within the garden.
[6] Next
[6] Submit and Continue
[7} Enter payment information and Continue to Review
(in 2024 I do not see a $5 processing fee or tax)
[8] Complete Order

If it asks about Mobile ticket vs Printed ticket: Mobile ticket worked for me - it sent an email of the ticket, and I can still print the ticket)

--

For a specific place, let's meet between 8:00-8:15 about 20 feet before the end of the line at regular Garden Lights entry. This is likely far away from the gift shop, like 200 feet south along the parking garage.
I'm typically holding a RED FOLDER or Meetup sign.
• After 8:15, I plan to get in line and enter the regular Garden Lights line.

This is a friendly community event. :)

See you!
Dan S.

All tickets are non-refundable.
[I Dan think the below is for non-flex tickets: ] In the event of inclement weather, tickets may be transferred to another date for $5 per ticket.
Tickets transferred from a weekday to a weekend require an additional $3 fee per ticket. Cost differences when transferring from a weekend ticket to a weekday ticket are not refunded.

from https://atlantabg.org/plan-your-visit/

What to bring: Your tickets or your charged phone.

The parking line in 2021 was 45 (forty-five) cars. So please consider taking a shared ride (or a bus).
• PARKING:
• Atlanta Botanical Parking (can't miss when going to the gift shop): the parking garage is officially shared with Piedmont Park).
Lights event (in 2021 at least)
"Monday – Wednesday:
$10 or $5 for vehicles of four or more people."
(Normally $6 for 3 hours)
Not sure weekend price.
• 1320 Monroe Drive, Atlanta, GA 30306.

https://atlantabg.org/map-location/sage-parking-facility/

There is no free parking nearby the garden; over 1/4 mile probably for this event.
• Free parking is probably very hard or banned during Garden Lights Holiday Nights event. You can attempt to park in the community west or south of the park, as it is often crowded along the edge of Piedmont park.
• MAP:

Note in Dec 2024, there is a cheaper admission at 9:30. However, due to park closing and possibly an hour wait for the parking garage,
I think this is not worth the risk.
