Program: Behind the Lens - Alan Evans

Retired NBC news photographer Alan Evans will share his decades of experiences with NBC news. From the famous to the infamous, Alan will describe some of history's most unforgettable events. Events he experienced behind the lens.

Alan Evans is a retired, award-winning cameraman who spent over three decades capturing compelling stories and images for NBC Network News. Alan’s stories for NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, and MSNBC took him on extensive travels throughout the United States and worldwide.

Alan’s skills with visual storytelling became a window into the human experience, documenting local and international breaking news, natural disasters, human interest stories and even presidential campaigns. His ability to capture the perfect shot and convey the moment’s emotion earned NBC and Alan an Emmy for his work covering The Great Flood of 1993. His sharp eye for composition and lighting earned him many accolades from his peers for his outstanding camera work. He has moved in front of the lens to share his life experiences from the late 60’s to the early 2000’s.
