Welcome to the Gwinnett County Craftivists - a StoryGroup with the Collective!

You’re invited to a monthly craftivist gathering – two hours to make things, build community, and imagine how we show up for our neighbors. Each month we’ll work on a simple creative project connected to care, mutual aid, and justice, with plenty of space to talk, reflect, and be human together. No crafting expertise required. Just curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to be in beloved community.

Here is our spring schedule:

  • January 25 – Vision & Values
Focus: Who are we becoming together?
Project: Service-centered vision boards exploring values, gifts, and community needs.

  • February 22 – Words That Hold People
    Focus: Caring for individuals.
Project: Handmade affirmation cards with local resource information for youth, LGBTQ+ folks, and mutual aid recipients.

  • March 22 – Dignity in Action
    Focus: Meeting material needs.
Project: Outreach kits (hygiene, snacks, seasonal items) with decorated bags, notes, and stitched or tagged messages.

  • April 26 – Collective Voice
    Focus: Speaking together.
Project: Individual quilt squares combined into a shared banner or quilt for Pride, mutual aid events, or public witness.

  • May 24 (or May 31) – Visible Care*
    Focus: Showing up publicly.
Project: Wearable messages (totes, patches, buttons) with affirming, justice-centered language.
Note: May move to May 31 due to the holiday weekend.

  • June 28 – Rest, Repair & Reflection
    Focus: Sustaining the work.
Project: Personal journals and painted rocks with words or symbols of belonging, hope, and steadiness.
