Testament
Formed in Berkeley, California in the early ‘80s, Testament is one of the pillars of Bay Area thrash metal. Their sound blends blistering riffs, technical guitar work, and the powerful vocals of Chuck Billy. Albums like The Legacy and Practice What You Preach helped define the second wave of thrash. Fun fact: guitarist Alex Skolnick is also a skilled jazz musician and leads his own jazz trio when he’s not melting faces with thrash riffs. 🤘

Overkill
Hailing from New Jersey, Overkill has been delivering relentless thrash metal since 1980. Known for their aggressive speed, gritty riffs, and the unmistakable high-energy vocals of Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth, they’re one of the longest-running bands in the genre. Their mascot, “Chaly,” a skull with bat wings, appears on many of their album covers. 💀

Destruction
One of the “Teutonic Big Four” of German thrash, Destruction formed in Weil am Rhein, Germany in 1982. Their music is fast, raw, and aggressive, with snarling vocals and razor-sharp riffs that helped shape the European thrash sound. Alongside Kreator and Sodom, they were central to the rise of German thrash in the ‘80s. 🇩🇪🔥🤘
