Their lyrics and imagery are inspired by Gothic Literature (Mary Shelly / Bram Stoker), mythology, and horror movies. The band has released a total of 16 albums, and are credited with being one of the first black metal bands in England.
Suffocation: A death metal band from New York. The band formed in 1989 and took their name from the title of a Morbid Angel song. Their 1991 album Effigy of the Forgotten became the blueprint for death metal in the 1990s: a combination of growling vocals, down tuned guitars, and fast guitars and drums. Ghost Bath: A band from North Dakota. They band formed in 2012 and plays a sound centered around black metal yet incorporating rock and ethereal aspects. Their name refers to a method of suicide, where one submerges oneself into a body of water. The band has released 5 albums.
