Bi-monthly Virtual Meetup
Details
The Atlanta Scala Meetup is a community for Scala practitioners to meet like-minded folks, learn or present exciting or effective technologies, and connect with job-seekers or companies interested in hiring.
Our bi-monthly meetup occurs on the first Tuesday of every other month, at 7PM Eastern. The format is flexible, but we hope to have a mix of community participation, speakers, and workshops.
This session we'll have the honor of having Arman Bilge give a talk about:
How we optimize the Cats Effect runtime and how you can help
"We recently released Cats Effect v3.6.0, which introduced significant changes to the runtime and also exposed several new metrics to users. I will give an overview of how the runtime works and the principles that guide and inspire our optimization efforts. Then, we will take a closer look at some of the changes we made in v3.6.0 and in particular our hypotheses about application workloads that motivated those changes. Finally, we will discuss how you can help us test these hypotheses in the wild using runtime metrics, as well as more broadly how metrics can help you tune your services."
