In an attempt to help #FlattenTheCurve & keep every one safe we will now be hosting this meeting online. Connectivity details to follow.

Meeting kicks off at 6:30 with a few announcements and chatting, then we'll go immediately into Allan's session.

Abstract:
Availability is more than just local high availability and disaster recovery: it is all about business continuity. Achieving the uptime required for SQL Server is not just features in the engine or the underlying platform. There is no easy button. Architectures that look great in a diagram may not actually work – and you need to know why. Sometimes you have no control over things like requirements, budget, or even what can be used. How do you deal with that? This session will discuss those topics as well as strip back the layers from tech on down and discuss how when you have the right foundation, you can plan, implement and manage successful SQL Server availability solutions even with obstacles in your way.

Bio:
Consultant, trainer, author, business continuity expert, and SQLHA, LLC founder Allan Hirt has been working with SQL Server since 1992 when it was still a Sybase product as well as clustering in Windows Server since the late 1990s when it was called Wolfpack. Currently a dual Microsoft MVP (Data Platform; Cloud and Datacenter Management) as well as a VMware vExpert, Allan works with customers and end users around the world to empower their SQL Server deployments and share his knowledge.
