Atlanta Tech Talks: Computer Aided Design

Details

Atlanta Tech Talks... Computer Aided Design (3D CAD)
This month, by popular demand and as a follow up to our 3D Printing Talk last month... Eric (with a bit of help) will be giving and introduction to Computer Aided Design, also know as CAD.

DON'T PANIC!!!

TinkerCad is easy enough for elementary kids to use without any instruction at all!

DON'T ROLL YOUR EYES!!

We'll also cover OnShape which can create truly professional level and very complicated designs, as well as OpenSCAD which is gear to towards programmers.

You should create free account right now on each platform or arrive early enough to sign up on the day of.

This talk will be hands on keyboard, so bring a computer. Hopefully we'll have enough folks with computers that if you don't bring one you can pair up with someone that does have a computer. We'll take it easy so there is something for everyone and something that is guaranteed to work on whatever computer you bring.

Meeting Details:

  • When: The forth Thursday - October 24th (one week later than usual)
  • Where: Ponce City Market - 650 North Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA
