Join us for an in-person garden tour at The Wylde Center’s Edgewood Garden! This garden is in the Edgewood neighborhood in Atlanta and features garden beds, a chicken coop, and more. We will be touring the Edgewood Garden and creating a pollinator bed by planting wildflowers. This activity is beginner-friendly. Accessibility notes: This garden site has an accessible bathroom, seating areas, and a fenced enclosure.
Agenda: Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the start time. Activities will begin promptly at 12:00 pm ET. Introductions will take place in the garden’s learning center, which is indoors and has seating.

12:00 pm ET – Introduction
· Welcome
· History of the Edgewood Garden
· Demonstration on how to plant wildflowers
12:20 pm ET – Garden Tour
· Walk and talk around Edgewood Garden
12:40 pm ET – Wildflower Planting
· Self-paced wildflower planting in raised garden beds
This event will end at 1:15 pm ET

What to wear and bring with you

  • Drinking water
  • Recommended clothing: Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants are recommended for comfort while kneeling.

Tools and gloves will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own garden gloves if you prefer.

Meeting Location:
The Edgewood Garden is located at 53 Mayson Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30317. Street parking is available in addition to the neighboring school parking lot. Once you enter the Edgewood Garden through one of the four gates, you'll see a green house. We'll meet on the front porch.

Weather
This event will happen rain or shine, so please check the weather and dress accordingly. We'll cancel if severe weather, such as sustained lightning, is forecast.
