This is the fifth part of a multipart series in learning how to design and manufacture a custom PCB. During the Social Hour, any questions, issues about previous meetups may be brought up. Also, help will be extended any newcomers to assist them in catching up to the current presentation.

At this point in the series, you have completed a schematic of the circuit to be built, learned how to look up the required footprints for your schematic parts, and learned a process to create a custom part footprint.

In today's presentation, you will learn how to associate footprints to parts and start the layout. Following the association of parts to their footprints, the board outline will be created (this defines how the board will physically look). And time permitting, part placement will be started.
