Adventures in Astronomy in the Southern Hemisphere
    Jerry Armstrong

Jerry Armstrong became interested in Astronomy around the age of 10 when he saw his first comet, Ikeya-Seki 1965f. He is an accomplished amateur astronomer, having discovered a supernova in M51 and observed over 389 comets. Jerry has a meteorite collection of over 2000 specimens as well as several telescopes that he uses for astrophotography.

In this talk Jerry will tell us about the eleven weeks he spent this past year as the Resident Astronomer at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia, Africa. He will be showing astrophotographs documenting his adventures in astronomy in the Southern Hemisphere during this time. Jerry will also be sharing photos of the varieties of wildlife encountered during his stay.
