About us

I started this group because I realized a lot of Black American single and solo moms are craving real community.

Not performative friendships. Not social climbing. Not spaces where everyone feels like they have to fit a certain aesthetic, income bracket, parenting style, or personality just to belong. Just genuine connection.

As a mom, I’ve joined different groups over the years hoping to find sisterhood and community, but too often the energy felt competitive, cliquey, or surface-level and honestly, that energy eventually trickles down to the kids too.
What I was really looking for was something more old-school
A village.... The kind where moms actually know and support one another. Where our kids can grow up together, build friendships, attend activities together, and feel surrounded by safe, familiar community. The kind of space where we exchange resources, encourage creativity and entrepreneurship, help each other when life gets heavy, and create meaningful relationships outside of social media performance.

This group was created for the moms who don’t fully fit into the “cookie cutter” boxes. The creative moms. The free-thinking moms. The earthy moms, quirky moms, spiritual moms, artsy moms, bougie-on-a-budget moms, introverted moms, rebuilding moms... women who are simply looking for authentic connection without pressure to conform.

At the end of the day, we may all come from different backgrounds and walk different paths, but we share something deeply important:
We are Black American Women who have been systematically stigmatized to carry the world on our shoulders, without the support systems we truly need. So instead of competing, isolating, or pretending, I wanted to build a space where we could reconnect with community again.... naturally, locally, and authentically. That’s the heart behind this village.
