Two for One: What's New in Spring MVC and Spring Batch

Details

On Tuesday evening after DevNexus, come join us for two presentations and a Q&A session with the Spring engineers who work on many of the Spring projects you use. This meeting is your opportunity to network with several Spring engineers who are in town for DevNexus and are interested in connecting with ASUG members.

Rossen Stoyanchev will present What's new in Spring MVC. Rossen is a committer on the Spring Framework team with a strong focus on web development including Spring MVC and WebSocket messaging. Previously Rossen consulted and trained Spring teams for several years. He has been involved with Java and web development in various industries and domains since the mid 90s.

Michael Minella will present What's new in Spring Batch. Michael Minella is a software engineer, teacher and author with over a decade of enterprise development experience. Michael was a member of the expert group for JSR-352 (java batch processing). He currently works for Pivotal as the project lead for the Spring Batch project as well as an instructor at DePaul University. Michael is the author of Pro Spring Batch from Apress and the popular Refcard JUnit and EasyMock.

In addition to Rossen and Michael, we will also host a few other Spring engineers. We hope you can join us for this rare opportunity to meet so many of the Spring engineers at one time.

Speakers Needed:

This is your user group. ASUG is always looking for speakers for our future meetings. Have you never presented before? Do you only want to give a short presentation? This is not a problem! We are happy to accommodate you! We want all of our members to feel free to speak about their own projects or any areas of interest. Please talk to us at a meeting or contact us through the meetup page to discuss your presentation.

Meeting Details:

The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM, allowing members time to network, arrive and enjoy pizza. At 7 PM, ASUG will give an introductory welcome, and will be shortly followed by the presentation. As always, everyone has the option to head downstairs to Aja for networking and drinks after the meeting.

Important Note:

Parking at the One Alliance Center is $12 max. If you wish to go to Aja after the meeting they will validate part of your parking. If parking is a problem, some members park at Phipps Plaza for free and walk over. ASUG does NOT validate parking.
