About us

Hello movie lovers (and haters too, everyone is welcome!),

Do you ever find yourself scrolling through Netflix for hours, only to end up watching The Office for the tenth time? Do you want to watch movies but wish you had some friends to discuss them with afterwards? Well, have we got the club for you!

Welcome to our movie club, where we gather on Tuesday nights at Regal Atlantic Station to watch a movie and then chat about it over drinks. It's like a book club, but without the pressure of having to read a book ahead of time. You can just show up, sit back, and let the magic of cinema wash over you.

Whether you're a cinephile or a casual movie-goer, everyone is welcome to join. We're a friendly bunch who love to chat about anything and everything, from the latest blockbuster to that obscure indie film you stumbled upon.

So why not step out of your comfort zone and come meet some new friends? You never know, you might just discover your new favorite movie. If you have any questions or want to keep the conversation going join the discord here:

See you at the movies!

FAQ:
Where can I park?
Atlantic Station has parking free for 2 hours, if you bring your parking ticket to the movie you can validate the parking for another 2 hours. There is also free street parking around 16th street/home park if you want to walk a little bit.

Should I get my tickets ahead of time?
We plan to go at slower times so it probably will not be necessary. Regal has kiosks outside that do not charge the online booking fee for unlimited members. Plus if we book it together we can pick seats based on the group size we have.

Where will we meet?
Generally we will meet people outside by the ticket kiosks below Atlantic Station. If the meetup happens to be at a different theater we will meet in the lobby.

What does it cost?
We recommend the Regal Unlimited pass. The second tier will allow you to see almost every 2D movie at Regal Atlantic Station. It currently costs $22 a month and when you purchase it you are locked in for 3 months but you can cancel any time after that. A normal movie at Atlantic Station can cost between $17 and $32. The breakeven is one to two movies a month. We do plan on seeing movies on Tuesdays in general which is the value day has $6.50 tickets which can be a cheaper option. However sometimes there is no value passes on movies just released like the large Marvel films.

What about Movie Pass?
Movie Pass has returned and is an option for making seeing movies less expensive. It has a limited number of points per month with theaters costing specific amounts of points. In my opinion it is more flexible then Regals pass but more expensive if you see 2-3 movies a month.

Why not AMC and A-List?
We decided to stick with Regal because for us the organizers it is closer to where we live and part of the point of starting the meetup was to find more people to see movies with Regal Unlimited. I guess at a Regal heartbreak can also feel good in a place like this.

Do you work for Regal or is this affiliated with them in any way?
No! We are just a couple that wanted to meet more people who like to see movies.

Where do you eat or hangout after the movie?
After the movie ends we will meetup in the lobby. The plan is to walk to somewhere in Atlantic Station. Hobnob Tavern or the Bolero are the ones that are open the latest. Both have food and drinks and can give us an opportunity hangout and chat about the movie.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes, however Atlantic Station requires anyone under 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 3PM and no one under 21 after 9PM.

Behavior Policy:
We expect everyone who attends our meetup to show respect to everyone. This means no racism, sexism or bigotry towards anyone. We strive to be inclusive for all people to attend. This group is meant to be a fun night out lets work together to keep it that way for everyone.

️ This Week’s Movie: How to Make a Killing

    ️ Schedule

    • Meet: 7:00 PM
    • Pre Movie Social: 7:10 PM
    • Movie Start: 8:10 PM (Standard 1HR 45MINS)

    ** Where to Meet**
We gather before the movie near the Regal Atlantic Station marquee, by the entrance to the ticket machines. One of the organizers will have a printed sign to help you find us.
    (Map)
We’ll wait there until the movie’s printed start time. Then we’ll purchase tickets and hang out in the lobby for 15–20 minutes while trailers play. If you prefer, feel free to head into the theater early—we tend to see the same trailers every week!

    ‍♀️ Running Late?
No worries! Leave a comment below or message on Discord to let us know you're coming. We’ll post our seating location in the chat. If you sit elsewhere, that’s totally fine. After the movie, look for a group standing in a circle in the hallway outside the theater—we’ll hang out briefly to share first impressions, take a quick group photo, and then head to the social.

    ** Social**
Pre-Movie Social: If the movie starts late or has a longer runtime, we sometimes gather before the screening. We’ll meet at the theater as usual, then walk together to grab food in Atlantic Station. We typically sit at the picnic tables in front of Naan Stop or BGR, and people can pick up food from nearby spots like Publix, Salata, Pho 24, and others.
To get there, walk away from the theater and turn right at California Pizza Kitchen—you’ll see the picnic tables on your left.
Post-Movie Social: Most weeks, we go out after the movie. Since many Atlantic Station restaurants close at 9:00 PM, we typically head to Hobnob (closes 10:30 PM) or Yard House (closes 11:00 PM). Both are less than 150 feet from the theater. Even if you're not getting a full meal, feel free to join us and grab a drink or a snack—it's a great chance to meet others and chat about the movie.

    ️ Tickets & Discounts
We buy tickets right before the movie starts. Tuesdays are Value Days, with discounted pricing if you have a free Regal account (sign up through the app). If needed, we can help some folks purchase tickets using regulars’ accounts.

    ❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How long has this group been going?
We started the Atlantic Station Movie Club in February 2023 and have been meeting almost every Tuesday since.
    How many people usually attend?
Attendance varies depending on the movie. On average, we see 10–20 people each week, with bigger releases sometimes drawing up to 30 or more. Check out the Photos section to see some of our past meetups.
How do we pick the movies?
We typically choose the biggest new release each week—usually whatever premiered the weekend before. When there are multiple strong options, we hold a vote in our Discord to let the group decide. For big blockbuster releases, showtimes and ticket availability are often posted in advance, making it easier to plan weeks ahead. However, in weeks with smaller or limited releases, showtimes may not be confirmed until the Monday or Tuesday before—so occasionally, we have to wait until then to finalize our pick. Either way, we always aim to choose something fun and worth discussing afterward!
Are you affiliated with Regal or Atlantic Station?
No—we’re not connected to Regal Cinemas or Atlantic Station in any official way. We’re just a group of movie lovers who enjoy seeing films together.
What does it cost to attend?
There’s no fee to join the group or participate in the meetup. However, attendees are responsible for the cost of their movie ticket and any food or drinks during the social. See the Tickets section above for pricing and the Social section for restaurant info.
    How is the group funded?
Meetup began charging $300 per year to host events. While many groups left the platform, we’ve stayed because it remains one of the best places for visibility. This year, we asked our members for support—and the community came through. If you’d like to contribute to help keep the group running, please talk to an organizer.
    How can I help out?
Right now, the group is mostly organized by one or two volunteers. We’d love more help with planning, hosting, or simply welcoming new members. If you’re interested in contributing, just let us know!
