Bitcoin Builders #8 - COLDCARD Emergency Overview + Town Hall
Details
We're going to have an overview of what went down with the recent COLDCARD vulnerability, with practical guidance for ways to protect yourself and a technical explainer for those interested. We'll then shift to open Town Hall format to give everyone an opportunity to share their thoughts.
Ordinarily, we use this meetup as a place for people to share what they are building, but given the breadth and severity of the COLCARD vulnerability, the community needs some time to focus on this issue.
If you are a COLDCARD user, make sure to get your bitcoin off of that device. Reach out to someone you trust if you need help. If you are not a COLDCARD user and have no idea what's going on, expect a very interesting discussion around cyber-security, bitcoin, and AI at this meetup.
---
Bitcoin Builders is a meetup for people exploring Bitcoin from a product perspective.
This event is about the tools, apps, and services that make Bitcoin usable, expressive, and valuable to real people—not just protocol theory. We’ll still talk plenty of tech, but the focus is on user-facing ideas, product decisions, and real-world experimentation rather than deep consensus or protocol minutiae.
What We’ll Explore
- Native apps, web apps, and services built on or around Bitcoin
- Novel ways of interacting with Bitcoin and Lightning
- Product design challenges in bitcoin and freedom tech
- Early-stage experiments, side projects, and in-progress work
- Lessons learned shipping (or trying to ship) Bitcoin products
Who This is For
- Entrepreneurs & founders
- Product managers & designers
- Developers & technologists
- Bitcoiners and freedom-tech enthusiasts
- Anyone curious about building real products in the Bitcoin ecosystem
If you like demos, rough edges, and learning how things actually get built—this meetup is for you.
Format
Each event will feature five 15-minute demo slots.
Presenters will walk through something they’ve been working on recently—this can be polished or scrappy, shipped or experimental.
