How long have you been using Cassandra?

I've never used Cassandra. I'm looking to learn more about it (my background is Sysadmin/Support/Operations rather than actual development).

What is your role in your organization?

I'm the Hosting Evangelist at Internap, and formerly a Product Manager for Internap's Cloud/Hosting offerings.

Introduction

I'm the Hosting Evangelist at Internap. I'm looking to better understand Cassandra and how developers use it. I've supported relational databases for customers in the past, and am rather new to the NoSQL concept.

What Andrew B. is saying about this Meetup Group

Learned a lot of useful information tonight. Interestingly, I had a conversation with one of our IT System Architects earlier in the day about scaling limitations of time series data on one of their internal [monitoring and usage metering] systems, and he was looking into better scaling options like Cassandra. Quite fortuitously, the topics under discussion tonight covered quite a bit of his use case.
