About us

Making new friends to hangout with regularly, is statistically harder when you're over 25.

We've all felt it, but no one is really naming it.

It makes sense though, because after work, chores, taking care of the kids, walking the dog, and everything else that happens in between, our social life has no choice but to take a back seat.

Suddenly it's Saturday, and you want something to do with someone, but everyone is either busy, too flakey, or has already moved away.

This is not a personal dig, it's me, (Leeann), saying this from personal experience because I know you have experienced it too.

What's crazy is that we are all literally looking for the same thing and having a hard time finding it.

So, I'll tell you what this group is not.

It's not a networking group, singles mixer, or the fast-food equivalent of showing up once and being promised a new best friend.

Instead, this group, and by proxy Nourish, is a way to make real friends with deep conversations while doing fun things together regularly, like enjoying live music while creating bouquets, or solving puzzles as we chat about the past.

These fun things often involve the arts, music, or other creative pursuits because actively supporting those things adds color to our lives.

So, is this an art club you might ask?
No. We do art things sometimes, but we also do other things.

Can I come to this alone?
Yes, over 90% of people come alone and have a great time. After all, we're all here for the same thing.

How does it work generally?

  • We often start with light guided conversation,
  • do a thing (whether it's art or something else together like start a board game),
  • we take a short break,
  • then come back for another round of deeper conversation,
  • and then we close (while leaving some time to snack, chat, and chill).

What if I'm shy, am an introvert or have social anxiety.
We Gotchu. Our gatherings are guided so there's always someone there to help the flow of conversation, and help the quiet ones be heard when they'd like to speak up.

Also, we have breaks during our gatherings, so if you need to step out and get some air or take a break to self-regulate that's okay.

Also also, we're all rolling different stats for social charisma, some are a natural 20, some not so much, either way, the group has your back.

Do I have to be a member to come?
No, most events are open to guests like yourself.
Membership is for those who come out often and want to unlock other perks aside from free events.

How come the event host sometimes has 5+ guests?
Most people save their spot at Nourish, others on Eventbrite, and some through email, word of mouth, or our group chat. When we can, we'll try to keep the guest count on Meetup updated.

So, in a nutshell, and as it relates to friendship...
what is this?

The very beginning.

Welcome to Nourish where real connection stars offline.

See you soon.
