Welcome to the first meetup of the year! This month, we are excited to have a traveling guest speaker, Cory LaNou of Gopher Guides, who will be presenting on gRPC and gRPC-Gateway. Learn how to create a RESTful web service with gRPC by setting up a basic gRPC service, generate the protobuf code, add a RESTful gateway, and finish it off with Swagger/OpenAPI support.

Last year we spent January's meetup brainstorming cool things to learn about for the remainder of the year, and it worked so well that we're going to try it again this time. If you've ever wanted to speak, or if you have things you know you'd love to hear about, we want to hear from you! Last year we walked away from the January meetup with most of our calendar full - let's try to do even better this time!

And of course there will probably be some surprise lightning talks... :-)
