Come and try one of Auckland's most unique adventures - a sunset kayak to Rangitoto!
(If adverse weather prevents this event from going ahead on this date, it will be rescheduled to an alternative date, or you can get a full refund.)
Meeting place : Meet at St Heliers Boat Ramp at 2pm (free parking near by).
Kayak Tour Company : http://www.aucklandseakayaks.co.nz,
Phone Nic : 09 213 4545
The Plan : meet up and have a safety briefing including paddle briefing before being paired up and heading off to Rangitoto in double kayaks. Once we get there we will have a BBQ dinner and then walk up to the summit to check out the amazing views before heading down to kayak back in the dark.
This event will not have a formal meetup host but Nick and his team will take good care of you. No experience needed although enthusiasm, energy and a moderate level of fitness help. Due to operating restrictions placed upon the kayak provider by the Adventure Tourism regulations people cannot bring their own kayaks.
Cost : $173 per person includes all kayak equipment, guiding and dinner. Auckland Sea Kayaks sticks to strict safety guidelines and only operates when the kayaking and weather conditions allow.
Booking : the easiest way to book is online by clicking on this link:

An RSVP for this event does not constitute a booking: You need to do that directly with Auckland Sea Kayaks using the above link. This is a private booking, provided at a discount on their normal rates.
Please add a note on the booking if city pickup is required or any dietary requirements. Group Size : Min 4 Max 16. I will not put a limit on the rsvps but will add a notification when all the places are booked. Ideally only rsvp once you have booked.
Cancellation : Auckland Sea Kayaks reserves the right to cancel or amend any tour due to road, water or weather conditions. If it is cancelled due to such circumstances, you will receive a full refund. Please see Auckland Sea Kayak website for their cancellation terms in case your plans change.
What is provided?
They kit you out with all the specialist paddling gear including buoyancy aid (life jacket: you can bring you own if you prefer), spray skirt, spray jacket, thermals and a dry bag for your camera.
What to bring? Camera/phone (best in a water-proof case in case of splashes), water bottle, shorts to kayak in, sun glasses, soft shoes or sandals for hiking, warm top/trousers.
The Islands in the Hauraki Gulf provide sanctuaries for native plants and animals. We want to keep it this way. This is what you must to do to prepare for your trip:
• Check your bags for stowaways: mice, rats, Argentine ants and rainbow skinks.
• Ensure your footwear, clothing and bags are clean and free of soil and seeds.
Note : Participation in this activity is at your own risk. This is one of the best things I have done in Auckland so highly recommend giving it a go!
